When you’re on a dinner date, the last thing you’d expect is someone else trying to flirt with your partner. But seeing your server do it is on another level. TikTok user Tovah (@tovahmarx555) has, in turn, gone viral for explaining how this bizarre turn of events came to be.
In a video that has amassed 36,000 views, she began by saying how the server “literally touched” her fiancé as they left the restaurant, adding that this server was “kind of weird to us” all night.
“She obviously knew we were on a date,” she said. “It was just the two of us. At one point, I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, she was talking to him, which is fine. Be a server. Maybe he needed something. But as soon as I came back, she literally looked at me and walked away as if I didn’t even exist. Didn’t ask if I needed anything, or literally, even acknowledge my existence.”
Despite the strangeness of this situation, Tovah says she decided to let it go and just have a “great time” on her date.
“And then all of a sudden, we get up to leave, and this woman comes back,” she revealed. “She grabs my fiancé’s shoulder and says, ‘Hey, my name’s Ashley, ask for me next time.'”
“Did you just touch my man?” she asks. “Did you just tell him to ask for you? Next time you guys, what should I have done in that situation? I was like, I wanted to call the manager the next day. Like, I have no idea what to do, but I would love to know what you would have done.”
Tovah didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

‘What did commenters say?
In the comments, users were mostly supportive.
“Next time a woman does this, hold her hand with genuine warmth as if you feel sorry for her and with full confidence say, ‘It must be exhausting chasing men this way,'” one suggested. ‘I genuinely hope you meet someone of your own soon, so you won’t feel the need to flirt with married men for attention.'”
“Girl, you are not alone!” another declared. ” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out with my husband and servers or girls working are instantly attracted to him lol I see it a lot. But you did the right thing not acting on it because at the end of the day he’s yours and they wish they could have him.”
While a third noted, “This says more about him. When they had their chat while you were gone, he should’ve given her the impression he is not interested and he is taken. ‘Step off’ but he obviously did not do that. She sounds awful too, but there will be awful ppl out there, make sure you’re not with one of the awful ones.”
However, there was a minority of commenters who were less understanding of the situation, with one claiming that it “sounds like she realized that you were neglecting your man and she’s offering him an option.”
“And if he asked for her the next time you’re there that’s networking,” they added. “If you were secure in your relationship, it wouldn’t have bothered you but you’re clearly not.”
