What Declan Rice is doing to prepare for Arsenal transfer as £105m announcement nears

West Ham United captain Declan Rice is edging closer to becoming Arsenal's second signing of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners saw their opening two bids for Rice rejected by the Hammers before submitting a £105million offer for the England international earlier this week. That sum has been agreed in principle, with the two London clubs now negotiating the payment structure of the bid after Manchester City pulled out of the race for the 24-year-old.

Talks surrounding the instalments of how the fee will be paid continue and it is claimed that the final details could be completed by Monday whilst personal terms are unlikely to be an issue considering the player's preference has always been Arsenal. Now, Rice has been pictured in Dubai alongside fitness coach Chris Bowman, who posted a snap of the two together on Instagram.

Bowman's caption read: "Great to see the legend that is @declanrice again here in Dubai and to see the journey both for club and country over the last four years since he first came to us @elitesportsperformance_dxb.

Good things happen to good people and we’re proud to have played a very small part in his successes over the years with @england & @westham. Thanks to Dec for the new shirt to add to our ever-growing collection."

The Hammers skipper then took to the comments, replying with: "Pleasure mate! Legend you are."

Arsenal supporters will be hoping to see Rice in their famous red and white shirt sooner rather than later and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that discussions regarding payment terms are very close. "I’m told that this deal for Declan Rice is really, really close now", Romano told his YouTube channel.

"The agreement between Arsenal and West Ham is in place for the fee – £105 million. They’re negotiating on the payment terms and deal structure.

“But on Friday night, while I’m speaking, the agreement on payment terms is really close. It’s not ‘here we go’ yet. Let’s see how the discussions will continue in the next hours or days.

“But Declan Rice is expected to become an Arsenal player very, very soon. We are at the final bits of this long saga for Declan Rice to Arsenal.”
