What Declan Rice did in England training amid Chelsea and Manchester United transfer rumours

West Ham United’s Declan Rice has boasted over his finishing ability amid transfer links to Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Blues interest in the England midfielder is well known, having initially been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old during Frank Lampard’s tenure in charge at Stamford Bridge.

That interest has reportedly continued over recent months, with Thomas Tuchel having been noted as an admirer.

A move for Rice failed to come about in the summer transfer window, Chelsea instead electing to sign Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez on loan for the season.

That has not halted speculation though and it is now reported by ESPN that Manchester United remain interested in potentially making a move for Rice as soon as next summer.

Currently on international duty with England, the midfielder has shown Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Thomas Tuchel his abilities when in front of goal, despite having only ever managed to net seven senior goals throughout his career so far.

In a video shared by England on Twitter, Rice is seen consistently finding the back of the net from both range and somewhat closer in a training session, to the exacerbation of Three Lions stoppers Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope.

The West Ham man then affords himself a cheeky look at the camera before saying “that’s all I’m going to say.”

Of course, that scoring ability would certainly come in handy at Stamford Bridge, with Blues midfielders Jorginho and Mason Mount also possessing a useful knack of finding the back of the net, with 16 goals between them in all competitions last season.

Rice has just under three years left to run on his current West Ham contract and could potentially be an option for the Blues should they choose not to sign Saul Niguez on a permanent basis.
