What David Luiz said just three months ago has come back to haunt him

It looks as though Chelsea defender David Luiz is heading for the exit at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian is currently undergoing a medical at Arsenal ahead of a reported £8m move across London.

Luiz trained away from the main Chelsea first team squad yesterday (Wednesday) after trying to push through a transfer from Stamford Bridge to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been chasing defensive reinforcements all summer, and are working hard to strengthen the defence over the next few hours, with Celtic full back Kieran Tierney also due to be undergoing a medical at the Emirates Stadium ahead of a deadline day move.

Luiz only signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge three months ago, and comments made by the defender on his social media after the announcement could come back to haunt him.

"So happy to be here until 2021!!! I love this club and I will always give my best for this shirt!! Thank you for all your support!!" He wrote on his official twitter page, along with a video which shows him kissing the Chelsea badge.

The defender also reiterates his love for the club on the video along with talking about the club's 'ambition' and 'hunger'.

At the time Chelsea fans reacted in a positive way to the message, but it may not go down so well given the player's recent antics.
