There was an obvious parallel drawn by Leeds United fans on social media when Wigan were reduced to ten men midway through the first half during the Championship clash at the DW Stadium.
Joe Williams was sent off 21 minutes into the game, picking up a second yellow after he appeared to take some frustration out on Patrick Bamford, raking his foot down the striker's leg in an off-the-ball incident.
Leeds fans won't fondly remember the last time that they faced a ten-man Latics, back in April. On that occasion, Wigan had a man sent off for a contentious handball decision 14 minutes in at Elland Road. Leeds took the lead shortly after but somehow conspired to lose the match 2-1.
