What coronavirus Tier are you? Full list shows which rules apply in your part of England

A new three-tier strategy of local lockdown measures for England has been outlined by Boris Johnson today.

From Wednesday, different areas of England will be split up into medium, high and very high alert levels under the new system that attempts to curb rising Covid-19 rates.

But which set of rules apply to you? We look at every part of England so you know how to follow the Government's latest lockdown measures.

The toughest set of measures, know as "very high alert level" or Tier 3, will see a number of new and tightened restrictions.

Pubs and bars must close, and can only remain open where they operate as if they were a restaurant - which means serving substantial meals, like a main lunchtime or evening meal.

They may only serve alcohol as part of such a meal. People will be advised not to travel in and out of these areas.

The Liverpool metropolitan area is the only region that will be placed under Tier 3 when the new system begins, but others could join it if infections continue to soar.

Greater Manchester is one area that has narrowly avoided being placed under the harshest lockdown measures, instead falling into Tier 2 restrictions.

This second tier, or “high alert", will reflect many current local interventions, but there will now be consistency across the country.

This primarily aims to reduce household to household transmission by preventing all mixing between households or support bubbles indoors.

The Rule of Six will apply in outdoor spaces, including private gardens. Most areas which are already subject to local restrictions will automatically move into the “high” alert level.

The third category is Tier 3, or "medium alert", with areas included subject to the same national measures which currently apply across all of the country.

These include the 10pm curfew for pubs and restaurants and a ban on most gatherings of more than six people.

Keep reading for a full list of which set of rules apply to your part of England.
