What comes next for Elias Sorensen? Steve Bruce on Newcastle's attitude to new loan move

Steve Bruce says Elias Sorensen may head back out on loan in the New Year.

Sorensen’s career is at a crossroads , which follows on from a similarly frustrating time at Blackpool.

The Danish under-21 international forward has scored freely for the under-23s and there were calls for him to be handed a first team call last year. But he finds himself back at the Academy after Carlisle opted not to use him in the first half of the season despite their struggles in League Two.

He is just 20 so has time on his side but his next move is going to be important.

Bruce says the club are open to offers for Sorensen but in conjunction with loan manager Shola Ameobi he will decide on the next move for the striker.

“I saw him a bit in the summer when I first came in and he went to Carlisle. It’s obviously not worked for both parties and if that’s the case he may as well be back and training here and we’ll see.

“I’m not against him being back here and around the Academy but then again if someone comes in then I do believe that when you get to a certain age the loan thing is not a bad option.

“We’ll see.”
