What Chinese Year of the Rabbit 2023 could bring for you depending on your zodiac

With our New Year celebrations over and done with, there's another important date in the calendar coming up at the end of this month.

Chinese New Year falls on January 22, and this year is the Year of the Rabbit - one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac.

The rabbit is said to be a symbol of prosperity and peace in Chinese culture, and it's expected that all of the animal signs will have a "hopeful" year in 2023. However, there are some signs that will face more challenges than others, the Mirror reports.

So, here's what this next year could bring for you based on your animal in the Chinese zodiac.

Rabbit (born in 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, or 1999)

Anyone who was born in or is entering the Year of the Rabbit is said to have a tough 12 months.

"Fluctuations in luck" are likely this year, according to astrologers from chinesenewyear.net. This means that the highs will be very high, but with very low points too.

When it comes to your career, you could end up seeing a "dramatic boost" thanks to those around helping you.

Astrologers say 2023 should be a year of excitement and that if the Rabbit can keep an "upbeat attitude" then their positivity will attract the right powers that could positively impact their lives for the next 12 years.

Ox (born in 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997)

The Ox are "likely to experience many pleasant surprises in work and life", according to astrologers.

But they're are warned to not stop working hard as the luck will not be "bestowed" on them, but earned after their efforts in previous years.

The Ox may experience "little problems" but they will "turn into opportunities". Overall, it seems like it will be a good year for the Ox.

Tiger (born in 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2022)

According to the astrologers, Tigers can expect an "uptick of good fortune" this year.

This may not be anything especially significant, but it'll be enough to help them out in other areas of life.

When it comes to love and relationships, Tigers are being warned to control their tempers and communicate well with those around them to avoid fallout.

And in terms of work, Tigers should "stick to their guns" in order to see the best results.

Finally, Tigers should take extra precaution around their health, which they could see decline slightly this year.

Dragon (born in 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000)

2023 could be a bumpy ride for Dragons, as astrologers say they could be kept on their toes by "auspicious influences".

On the job front, they'll have a successful year with not many blockers in the way, with a steady income that's likely to increase if anything.

But the Dragon's love life could be taking a hit, as they are "more prone to feeling lonely" even when they seem to be happy with a partner. It's unlikely that single Dragons will enter a relationship this year.

Snake (born in 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)

Snakes will have a very positive 2023 with minimal setbacks, the astrologers have said.

Creativity is a common quality amongst Snakes, so they are being urged to put that to the test in any way that they can.

And although they may experience "minor frictions" within their work life and their relationships, they will be easily solvable with not many lasting issues.

Astrologers say Snakes this year should "stay still" and remain patient.

Horse (born in 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002)

Although Horses will face a "turbulent" 2023, astrologists have said that certain aspects of their life will improve if the work is put in.

In terms of work, it's important to keep putting the efforts in to get recognition for your successes. However, distractions are likely to crop up, which could put you off.

The Horse's love life is set to go better this year as astrologers say to go for it if they meet someone they like. Health will also remain stable.

Goat (born in 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991)

Goats are in for a peaceful 2023 as the fortunate and less fortunate aspects to come up will counteract each other, according to astrologers.

Goats are set to be favoured in their careers by "higher-ups and important partners and clients", meaning it's a good year to push themselves beyond their limits.

Their love life will be stable and single Goats will meet plenty of people this year.

Monkey (born in 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)

2023 is set to be "wonderful and glowing" for Monkeys, but due to a "powerful negative celestial influence", they will have to stay wary.

Astrologers say this will negatively influence the Monkeys' work life. It may be easy to want to quit if things get difficult or boring, but it's important to persevere.

Love will be more positive this year as they will be popular with who they hope to attract, and married Monkeys will fall in love over again with their partners.

Rooster (born in 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)

Roosters will be split this year, as they'll have a happy love life, but they'll also be "very dissatisfied with work development".

Astrologers say their work will be stagnant at best and even give a stark warning that they could lose their job this year.

They warn: "It won’t necessarily happen, but it won’t hurt you to be prepared, either."

However, Roosters shouldn't let the setbacks at work affect their relationships, which are likely to be very positive this year.

Dog (born in 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)

Astrologers predict a "breezy year" for Dogs with "relatively stable fortune".

The positive and negative aspects that may come will counterbalance each other.

At work, the Dog will make "more mistakes than usual", but everything is "entirely salvageable" - just don't make sure it snowballs!

The advice for Dogs is to not make a big deal out of anything.

Pig (born in 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)

Pigs will have an "easy breezy" year with the potential for it to become a "fantastic", according to astrologers.

The start of 2023 will start off great in terms of their work life, with being trusted more and given more projects.

Love is equally favourable, and the only thing Pigs could run into is health issues but only if they are not taking care of themselves.

Rat (born in 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996)

Astrologers predict a polarising year for the Rat which will include "no end of troubles, minor illnesses and even temporary disasters".

On the other side of that, the issues that do crop up are not impossible to handle.

It's not recommended that rats make any rash decisions next year, and in terms of love, fortune and work, there won't be much luck and at times "rather thorny".

However, astrologers say: "This may sound ephemeral, but the Rat’s spirit will undergo such a complete transformation in 2023 that they’ll hardly recognize themselves by year’s end!"
