What Chelsea target Erling Haaland did with Riyad Mahrez amid transfer rumours

Reported Chelsea target Erling Haaland sent Twitter into overdrive on Monday evening after a video emerged of him partying with Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

The Norwegian hitman, who is currently plying his trade for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, has been linked with a transfer to both Chelsea and Manchester City this summer.

Both sides are reportedly keen on bolstering their frontlines heading into the 2020/21 season.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is apparently keen on finding quality competition for Timo Werner, with the German having been in inconsistent form since his arrival from RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, fellow forwards Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi have all been linked with moves away.

Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola is also on the hunt for a striker with Sergio Aguero having departed for Barcelona.

The Blues then would be worried to have seen a video emerge on social media showing Haaland partying with City’s Riyad Mahrez on Monday evening.

The video itself shows the two players dancing whilst on holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos.

Even Mahrez himself got in on the fun, quoting the original tweet and captioning it “Agent Mahrez on duty”.

However, he appeared to quash any talk of a potential move to Manchester City with a follow-up tweet. He said: “Just having fun calm down”.

Despite his attempts, that appeared to do nothing to silence the calls from both Chelsea and City fans.

It is certainly easy to see why Haaland is much sought after.

Having broken onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg, the striker has continued his clinical goalscoring form with 57 in 59 games for Dortmund since his arrival.
