What Chelsea supporters did to Jorginho at the final whistle following 2-1 victory over Watford

Jorginho's transformation at Chelsea is pretty much complete.

A target for a lot of criticism last season, the Italy international in enjoying a new lease of life under Frank Lampard this term and he's quickly becoming a fan favourite.

This was evident against Watford on Saturday evening.

Despite conceding a penalty for a foul on Gerard Deulofeu which set up a nervy finale, much of the focus on Jorginho's performance against the Hornets was his brilliant pass for Tammy Abraham to break the deadlock after five minutes.

The first time pass caught the Watford defenders flat-footed and prompted a big reaction from supporters on social media.

Christian Pulisic added another after the break and the visitors held on for a seventh successive away win across all competitions to move six points clear of Arsenal in the race for a top-four finish.

But following the win there was one player in particular whom fans singled out for special praise.

As captured by @TheBlues__ on Twitter, Chelsea fans serenaded Jorginho with his song at the final whistle in the away end at Vicarage Road.

The big disappointment from the win over Watford was Jorginho's yellow card.

As it was his fifth booking of the season, the midfielder will now be suspended for the London derby against Crystal Palace this weekend, but he will be available to face Manchester City after the international break.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Vicarage Road, Lampard explained his reasons for appointing Jorginho as the new Chelsea vice-captain.

"I've got to say, I watched him in a lot of the games in the run-in last year - I know he had a bit of a tough time - but I was really struck by his bravery on the ball," Lampard told  Sky Sports . "He always wanted it.

"I was excited to work with him, and from day one in pre-season, we had a possession game, it was clear his ability on the ball.

"What's become even clearer since then, his attitude and what he does with the group, he's driven.

"That's why I've made him vice-captain. He's one of those infectious players, he cajoles players on the pitch, before the game. I've loved to see the fans' reaction to him.

"One thing a fan will always do - and I'm a fan - is that when you see someone giving everything, passion, drive, they will always react to that.

"You've seen that with Jorginho."
