What Chelsea's defeat to Liverpool means for Arsenal, Spurs and Man United in race for top four

Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday has left the odds for a top-four finish in the Premier League being shaken up once again.

The Blues missed the opportunity to return to third in the table and sit just two points above Manchester United, who have a game in hand, and three above an Arsenal side who travel to Watford tomorrow.

The battle for a spot in next season’s Champions League is likely to rumble on right to the wire but the loss at Anfield could be decisive for Maurizio Sarri’s side, as the latest from OddsChecker shows the odds on a top-four finish for Chelsea have drifted to 5/4.

Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to clinch a spot in Europe’s elite competition next season at odds of 1/7, while Arsenal are now seen as second-favourites at odds of 5/6.

Manchester United, meanwhile, still have Manchester City to play this season and are seen as the least-likely to clinch a top-four spot as they are priced at 2/1.
