What Chelsea players are doing during coronavirus break

It is an usual time for football, with the Premier League, along with many other domestic leagues around the world, in the midst of an enforced three-week break.

A decision to call a halt on proceedings amid the coronavirus outbreak came late last week, with the initial plan to continue quickly scrapped after it emerged that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi had both tested positive for the virus.

The diagnosis of Hudson-Odoi means that him and everyone he has come into contact with are in a period of self-isolation in an attempt to reduce the spread of the disease.

Chelsea’s training ground, Cobham has also undergone a deep clean, with the Blues confirming that it has now reopened.

However, the players still find themselves in self-isolation, so what are they doing with their unexpected time away from football.

As revealed by Chelsea’s official website each player in the first-team squad has been sent their own indoor exercise bicycle to use during the period.

Players have also been sent nutritional plans and fitness programs that they are expected to keep to.

Members of the Blues’ first-team squad have also been using social media to keep fans up to date with what they are up to, with Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic among the ones seen using the exercise bikes with Willian and Christian Pulisic sharing their experiences.

Should the Premier League return as planned at the start of next month, Chelsea will be back in action with a short trip to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United.
