What Chelsea player Tammy Abraham said after DeAndre Yedlin's stunning block for Newcastle United

Tammy Abraham repeatedly said 'Oh my God!' after DeAndre Yedlin somehow prevented the striker from doubling Chelsea's advantage against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Marcos Alonso broke the deadlock at Stamford Bridge after firing home past Martin Dubravka on 73 minutes and Abraham had a glorious opportunity to make it 2-0 seven minutes later.

A slick team move opened Newcastle up and Dubravka rushed off his line to close down substitute Christian Pulisic as he bore down on goal.

Instead of shooting, Pulisic unselfishly squared the ball to the in-form Abraham, whose header hit the crossbar in the first half.

Abraham expected to casually roll the ball into the empty net but Yedlin made a remarkable last-ditch block to deny the Chelsea No 9.

Hands on hips, Abraham could not believe it after the ball looped over the bar for a corner and said: "Oh my God! Oh my God!"

While Newcastle failed to have a shot on target, the Magpies' resilience pleased Steve Bruce - particularly after what happened at Leicester little more than three weeks previously.

“Thankfully, we hope that Leicester is something that we won’t see again this season," he told reporters after the game.

"It was very, very difficult, especially when we went down to 10 men. But I’ve seen enough resilience and attitude amongst them since Leicester to feel confident that is in the past. To beat Man U and then come to Chelsea and put on a spirited display was excellent."
