What Chelsea penalty hero Kepa Arrizabalaga said on shootout joy and facing Arsenal in the final

Kepa Arrizabalaga was the hero of the hour for Chelsea this evening (Thursday) after helping the Blues into the Europa League final against Arsenal.

The Spaniard made two saves in the penalty shootout as Chelsea defeated Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties, after the game finished 1-1 after extra time on a tense night at Stamford Bridge.

It was a very different story to the last time Chelsea were involved in a penalty shootout, after Kepa had refused to be substituted against Manchester City at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final, which City won on penalties.

BT Sport pundits give their verdict on Chelsea's disallowed goal in dramatic Frankfurt clash

And Arrizabalaga said he was delighted to help the Blues into the final.

"Penalties, you know it is a bit of luck. Today we win, in the other final we lose," he told BT Sport after the shootout.

"The atmosphere was very good. We play against a very strong team, but we are very happy.

"Always we prepare for the penalty shootouts and we are lucky today.

What Arsenal's Petr Cech has said about facing Chelsea in Europa League final

"Wembley, I learn and I say sorry to other people, but we keep looking forward. This was another semi-final and we are very happy with qualification for Baku.

"It is football. In the last semi-final in Carabao Cup against Tottenham, we win on penalties."

Meanwhile, Arrizabalaga said he was relishing the prospect of facing Arsenal in the final in Baku on June 29.

"We will have a very strong final against Arsenal," he said.

"I think our season was a little bit difficult but we are in two finals and I think it is a good season."
