Head coach Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he performed his very own digital blackout following the events that proceeded Chelsea's goalless' draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.
Ahead of kick-off at Stamford Bridge, hundreds of Chelsea supporters arrived at the home of the west London club to stage a protest after it was confirmed that the Blues one were of six English clubs to join the widely criticised European Super League.
The Blues' supporters were furious with the club's decision to get themselves involved, so much so that the club was forced to back down and enter the formal procedures to remove themselves from the breakaway league.
In a dramatic turn of events, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all did likewise, with all six clubs' departures from the tournament being confirmed within just a matter of hours.
Although the clubs made the decision to pull the plug, the condemnation and criticism did not end there, with supporters of other clubs urging the Premier League to take action against the 'Big Six.'
With rumours and speculation rife about what could happen, Tuchel decided to take a step back from looking at the internet.
"[It has been a] totally normal approach before the game," Tuchel told Sky Sports ahead of kick-off against West Ham United on Saturday teatime. "Me, personally, I switched off all internet around me - no news, no football for two days after Tuesday’s game.
"So, totally normal approach, the focus was very, very good. We had a night in the hotel and today we had two meetings, business as usual.
Ahead of the trip to the London Stadium, Tuchel confirmed that he had not had any discussions with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich following the Super League's collapse.
The German said: "No, nobody needs to apologise. And I have not spoken to the owner since I have arrived, which is absolutely not a problem.
"But I was in dialogue with the club before and after the match [vs Brighton], so I was informed that we were pulling out and that was pretty much all I needed, to prepare the team for the next match against West Ham."
Chelsea won the game against the Hammers 1-0, with Timo Werner's first half strike proving to be the difference between the two sides.
