Tottenham Hotspur will begin their first full season playing inside their new stadium when they host newly-promoted Aston Villa .

Spurs had an impressive 2018/19 campaign, reaching the final of the Champions League in a remarkable run, and also secured qualification for Europe's elite competition once again.

After emerging victorious in the Championship play-off final, Villa have returned to the Premier League after a three-year absence and will look to do better than their last season in the top flight where they finished bottom.

Both sides will be aiming to get their respective league campaigns off to a strong start with a positive result this weekend.

This match will take place on Saturday afternoon, kicking off at 5.30pm (UK time).

The match will take place at the brand new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, seating just over 62,000 fans.

This match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Spurs still have two players suspended, Heung-Min Son and Juan Foyth, both of whom picked up red cards against Bournemouth at the back end of last season.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Dele Alli will miss the first two weeks of the season, while Victor Wanyama and Ben Davies are unavailable.

Right-back Serge Aurier is recovering from a hand injury, whilst Eric Dier is fighting to be fit and has resumed training.

Aston Villa team news

New signing Tom Heaton is scheduled to play against Spurs after an injury to Orjan Nyland. The Norwegian suffered an achilles injury and did not feature in pre-season.

Welsh international James Chester injured his knee during pre-season and has yet to return.
