What channel is the Galway Races on today? TV information for Galway Hurdle day at Ballybrit

It's Galway Hurdle day at Ballybrit today and some of the biggest names in Irish racing will be represented in the race.

There's eight contests in total on a busy jumps card, while a virtual Best Dressed competition will take place off the track for Ladies Day.

A number of races will be shown live on free-to-air TV. Here's everything you need to know:

When do the races start?

The first contest on Thursday gets underway at 4.45pm.

What channel are they on?

RTE Two will show a number of races from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.

Racing TV will show all races from the meeting live.

What's the big race?

One of the biggest races of the summer in the Galway Hurdle is the feature contest this evening.

Gordon Elliott has never won the race, but has a very strong hand this year with favourite Felix Desjy and Cheltenham Festival winner or Aramax.

Willie Mullins runs five, while Wonder Laish is high in the betting for Charles Byrnes.

The race takes place at 6.45pm.
