Manchester City have the chance to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League with a positive result against Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
City currently top Group A on nine points and are five ahead of Club Brugge in third, so even if they fail to win here they can still progress depending on other results, but they will want to achieve this on their own merit.
PSG are a point and a place behind their hosts and have already dropped points away to Club Brugge and RB Leipzig this season, in games they would be expected to win, so have produced an inconsistent campaign so far.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are top of Ligue 1 by 11 points already, having won 12 of their first 14 games, and will also be looking to book their place in the last 16 with another victory here.
Pep Guardiola’s side are coming off the back of a 3-0 win against Everton on Sunday and the Spaniard is likely to play his strongest side for this game.

Team news
Pep Guardiola has four injury concerns ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie with PSG but long-term absentee Ferran Torres (ankle) and Kevin de Bruyne (Covid-19) will definitely remain out.
Youngster Liam Delap is still struggling with an ankle injury, while it remains to be seen whether or not Jack Grealish will be fit enough to play after missing the Everton game on Sunday with a minor injury.
Academy graduate Cole Palmer led the line against Everton but it can be expected that Gabriel Jesus will come back into the fold for this one, along with Ruben Dias and Riyad Mahrez.

Mauriccio Pochettino has a few injury concerns of his own with Julian Draxler and Rafinha, but more importantly goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma who is yet to recover from gastroenteritis.
Pochettino may also finally get to deputise summer signing Sergio Ramos, who has been deemed fit enough to make a return to playing action, while it can be expected that the famous front three of Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar will spearhead the team.
