What channel is Liverpool vs Arsenal? Kick-off time, TV channel and live stream details

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool host Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday, after the original match at the Emirates Stadium was postponed last week due to a high number of Covid-19 cases at Anfield.

And with that now behind them, The Reds will be looking to make up for lost time here with a good performance and result in order to give themselves an advantage heading into the second leg.

The Reds staged a stunning comeback to draw 3-3 with Leicester City in the quarter-finals, before winning the tie 5-4 on penalties, while Arsenal comfortably saw off League One Sunderland 5-1 at the Emirates.

The Gunners will see this as a realistic shot at some silverware this campaign and will be looking to repeat last season’s heroics against the Reds, when they knocked them out on penalties at Anfield in the Fourth Round of this competition.

Both sides are also coming off the back of FA Cup Third Round duties at the weekend, where Liverpool defeated Shrewsbury Town 4-1 at Anfield, while Arsenal suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat away to Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Team news

Following seven changes for their FA Cup tie with Shrewsbury on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp will be expected to chop and change things again as his Liverpool side prepare for a more serious contest with Arsenal on Thursday.

However, the German is still likely to be without seven of his players for the trip to the capital, with Thiago (hip), Divock Origi (knee), Harvey Elliott (ankle) and Nathaniel Phillips (head) all recovering on the sidelines.

To add to that, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita are at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Thiago is expected to remain out for a while (Reuters)

As for Mikel Arteta, he also made seven changes for his side’s lacklustre performance at Nottingham Forest, and despite a north London derby to come this weekend, a number of changes can still be expected here.

Gabriel will return from suspension, but seven others could be unavailable on Thursday night, including AFCON quartet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Nicolas Pepe.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf), Emile Smith-Rowe (groin), Granit Xhaka (illness) are all currently being assessed and late decisions will be made on their involvement ahead of this game.
