Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou knows the friendly clash with Preston is more than a summer kickabout.
The Hoops could be looking at rotating their evolving squad once more ahead of their crucial Champions League qualifier with FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.
The match will give the manager the chance to further assess fringe players and new signings, meanwhile Scott Sinclair could make his first appearance at Celtic Park since leaving the club for Preston.
Celtic are unbeaten so far in pre-season having registered wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton, as well as drawing with Bristol City.
The likes of Boli Bolingoli, Olivier Ntcham, Anthony Ralston and Scott Bain will all be trying to show manager Postecoglou their worth to the squad and to try and put them in contention for a starting spot in the European qualifiers.
The match will see Celtic come up against a familiar face in former fan favourite Scott Sinclair. The Englishman enjoyed a highly successful three and a half year spell with the Hoops during his trophy laden spell with the club.
