The Magpies sit bottom of the Premier League with just six points from their opening 12 matches and are yet to earn their first win of the season.
They did, however, show signs of improvement last week in the 3-3 draw with Brentford, certainly in the attacking third of the field anyway, in what was Eddie Howe’s first game in charge of the club.

Meanwhile, opponents Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.
The Gunners had started to build some momentum with an eight-match unbeaten run until their recent trip to Anfield.

Newcastle will have an almost fully fit squad to choose from, too, with Paul Dummett and Fabian Schar the only members of the Magpies squad set to miss out.
