What Celtic and Kilmarnock managers have been saying about today's Premiership match

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has spoken of his respect for Kilmarnock boss Alex Dyer ahead of their meeting this afternoon.

Killie welcome the champions to Rugby Park, with the two sides having experienced contrasting fortunes on the opening weekend.

Celtic began their campaign with a 5-1 victory over Hamilton Accies at Celtic Park, while Killie succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Hibs at Easter Road.

Dyer believes his side are prepared for an even tougher test this afternoon.

Here's what the two managers have been saying.

ALEX DYER

Speaking on the club's YouTube channel, Dyer said: "Tough game last week, and this could be an even tougher game, but we're prepared for it now.

"We're training, working hard and we're looking forward to the game.

"We know that they're a good side. We know what they're about, so we have to be organised and disciplined, and make sure we stifle them out of the game a little bit, which is going to be difficult, but we know how to play the game.

"We know which way we want to do it and we look forward to it."

NEIL LENNON

Speaking on Celtic's official website, Lennon said: "Alex is a very good coach. He’s got that foundation that Steve Clarke built up, even if Angelo Alessio was there between them.

"They’re a team I respect, they’ve got solid players and tactically they’re difficult to break down.

“We’ll have to adapt accordingly to the conditions, it’s good to have a week to prepare for it, so we’ll get a bit of rest, and come midweek, we’ll be really focused again on what we need to do.

“We had a good result at Rugby Park back in January, we played really well, we had to, and I think this game will be no different again. We’ll focus our minds, we’ll play to the conditions, and will handle the opposition as we need to.”

Kilmarnock v Celtic kicks off at 4.30pm.
