What Bundesliga ace Julian Brandt has said about his future amid Spurs and Liverpool links

Premier League clubs will be able to start their summer business very soon with the transfer window set to open on Thursday.

Much was made of the fact that Spurs didn't sign a single player ahead of last season and in January as Mauricio Pochettino had to go without as their rivals strengthened.

It should be much different this time around and Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon has already been tipped to sign on the dotted line with a Craven Cottage departure looking a real possibility.

Reports from Germany also claim that the club are interested in Bayer Leverkusen ace Julian Brandt.

The 23-year-old has made a real impression in the Bundesliga and the likes of Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are all said to be keen on signing him ahead of the transfer deadline.

Netting nine goals and registering 17 assists this season, the attacking midfielder is reported to have a €25m release clause in his contract.

According to SportBild (via Sport Witness), Spurs have already made a move for Brandt by holding talks with his father regarding a possible transfer.

The Lilywhites certainly won't have it all their own way with Jurgen Klopp believed to be a big fan of the German international, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on either wing.

So, will he be on the move over the coming months?

Speaking only last week, Brandt claimed that he is staying with Leverkusen as his contract doesn't expire for another two seasons.

"I'm enjoying myself," he told the Bundesliga's official website. "I've got a contract with Bayer until 2021, so right now all is well.

"As things stand, I'm staying put. I just want to end the season as best we can."

However, the playmaker did reveal in April that he will decide on his future once the Bundesliga season has come to an end.

What Gary Lineker has said about Aston Villa star Jack Grealish amid £60m Spurs links

"I will make up my mind, but not during the season," the player told Bild (via Liverpool Echo ). "For me, the club and the present is too important.

"If I was only concerned about that then my performance would suffer as well.

"It is something the club, who have given me confidence over the years, do not deserve."

Even though Bayer Leverkusen could potentially nip in ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach and take the final Champions League spot this weekend, it appears that Brandt will still be on his way this summer with a Premier League move potentially on the cards.
