What Bristol Rovers fans made of the win over Oxford United and Matty Taylor's return

Bristol Rovers fans were in jubilant mood after their side's win over Oxford United.

The Gas won 3-1 thanks to goals from Ed Upson, Jonson Clarke-Harris and Tom Nichols, while former Rovers striker Matty Taylor endured plenty of stick before limping off injured after half an hour.

It left Rovers supporters fully satisfied with what they saw.

Max Alderson: All debates of whether he’s good enough or has a future here aside, proper chuffed for Tom Nichols - always gives 100% for the team and fully deserved that goal.

Tommy Lawlor: Just like to take this moment to recognise the shift Abu Ogogo put in.

Troy Candy: Great atmosphere/result. Wasn't overly convincing performance BUT we were clinical when we did have chances. Back to back wins and getting to give Matty Taylor verbal abuse on his return to the Mem was priceless.

Chipstead Gas: Great three points, midfield still a massive worry, but defence restricted Oxford to very little.

Alfie Rendall: Class performance from the lads yesterday, not only during the game but the tribute in training for Junior. A rocking atmosphere really supported a great send off for him, small steps to turning the Mem back into our fortress.

Lee Callow: Best game I’ve seen from Ed Upson yesterday. Hope that performance gives him and the rest of the lads a bit of confidence.

Ben Hartnell: I thought yesterday showed that under this formation we are well organised, we finally have some width. I'm really impressed with Hare, still think we lack creativity in midfield but they really showed some bite at times. Good day all round.

Daniel Ball: Great result yesterday. GC got the tactics spot on in my opinion. I have been critical of him so far this season but the 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 is really starting to look promising.
