What Bentley Has Planned for 2026: A New Supersports and an Electric SUV

For Bentley, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant years in the brand’s modern history. The British luxury automaker is expected to introduce two dramatically different new models: the hardcore Continental GT Supersports and Bentley’s first fully electric SUV.

Together, these vehicles highlight Bentley’s evolving strategy—celebrating its performance heritage while expanding into electrification without abandoning traditional powertrains. Here’s what we know so far about Bentley’s 2026 models.

Bentley Continental GT Supersports

More than a century after the original Bentley "Super Sports," the nameplate is expected to return in its most extreme form yet. The 2026 Bentley Continental GT Supersports will be produced in a limited run of approximately 500 units, underscoring its role as a halo car rather than a volume model.

The Supersports will mark a notable departure from recent Bentley conventions. Expected changes include rear-wheel drive, a strict two-seat layout, and a sharper focus on performance and driver involvement than any recent Continental GT.

Power will come from a heavily reworked twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. Upgrades include larger turbochargers, reinforced cylinder heads, and enhanced thermal management. The output is listed at 666 horsepower, making it the most powerful V-8 ever fitted to a Bentley road car. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission.

The Supersports will be able to hit 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, with a top speed near 193 mph. Extensive aerodynamic revisions include a prominent front splitter, extended side skirts, and a fixed rear wing that could generate more than 660 pounds of additional downforce compared to the Continental GT Speed.

Inside, the cabin blends carbon fiber, leather, and Dinamica upholstery, with deep customization options available through Bentley Mulliner. While official specifications have yet to be confirmed, the Continental GT Supersports is shaping up to be one of the most focused performance cars Bentley has ever built.

Bentley 'Urban' Electric SUV

At the opposite end of Bentley’s 2026 product spectrum—but no less important—is the brand’s first fully electric SUV. Known internally as the "Urban SUV," this compact electric model is expected to debut by the end of 2026, positioned below the Bentayga in Bentley’s lineup.

This model will mark Bentley’s first series-production electric vehicle, aimed at broadening the brand’s overall appeal. While Bentley has not yet confirmed technical details, reports suggest the SUV will ride on a Volkswagen Group electric platform.

Notably, Bentley has hinted at charging performance capable of recovering up to 100 miles of range in approximately seven minutes, strongly suggesting an 800-volt electrical architecture similar to other next-generation Volkswagen Group EVs.

Pricing is expected to start at around $150,000, undercutting the Bentayga and making it Bentley’s most accessible SUV to date. Despite that positioning, the electric SUV is expected to offer extensive personalization, advanced digital technology, and a strong emphasis on bespoke luxury materials.

What’s Happening After 2026?

Bentley has recently adjusted its long-term electrification strategy, stepping back from its earlier goal of becoming an all-electric brand by the early 2030s. Instead, the company now plans to offer customers a mix of gasoline, hybrid, and electric powertrains, depending on market demand.

Concepts like the EXP 15 offer a glimpse into Bentley’s future design language, but beyond 2026, the brand’s exact roadmap remains unclear. What is clear is that Bentley’s upcoming Supersports and electric SUV represent two defining pillars of its next chapter.
