What Ben Chilwell has done during Chelsea absence to follow Mason Mount and Reece James example

Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has been out of action since injuring his ACL against Juventus at the end of November but has kept himself busy in the meantime.

The 24-year-old had hit a rich vein of form for the Blues prior to the blow, scoring three goals and assisting one more in just six Premier League appearances.

Hearts were in mouths then when he went down in clear pain in the Champions League clash three weeks ago. Although the diagnosis was not as bad as first feared, it is an absentee Thomas Tuchel could have done without.

What part he will play in the remainder of the 2021-22 season hangs in the balance, however.

"Ben has a partial ACL tear and the decision is to treat it conservatively," Tuchel said after the incident.

"The next six weeks will tell the story if he makes it and will be fully available within this six weeks, or after the six weeks or needs surgery after that."

Some good news emerged this week however, as football.london understands Chilwell had undertaken some light jogging as part of his recovery.

Now, he has used some of his increased free time to get some fresh ink.

In photographs shared to Instagram by London tattoo artist Miles Langford, Chilwell can be seen sporting three new tattoos, including one of the Champions League trophy on his right forearm.

He is not the first Chelsea player to get tatted by way of remembering May's triumph over Manchester City, with Reece James and Mason Mount doing the same.

Two more tattoos appeared below his knees. On his right, his birth year of 1996 and on his left, his England cap number - 1235.

Thursday night will see Chelsea take on Everton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League with Chilwell potentially watching on from the stands.

He will not be doing so alongside N'Golo Kante and Trevoh Chalobah, however, with both players returning to training this week.
