What Bayern Munich told Hansi Flick after failed move for Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has reportedly been given a stern warning over the way in which he tried to lure Callum Hudson-Odoi over to Germany.

The 55-year-old had wanted to bring the young Chelsea winger to the Allianz Stadium during the summer transfer window.

It's not the first time the Germans had been linked with a move for the teenager with the same rumours emerging in the previous two transfer windows as well.

But Flick's conduct in promoting his interest in Hudson-Odoi has earned him a reprimand by the club's board.

According to German outlet TZ, Flick's public admiration for the teenager was at odds with the club's board who prefer to do business away from the limelight.

The reigning Champions League winners are set to reignite their interest in Hudson-Odoi during the January transfer window.

The prospect of signing the 19-year-old will no doubt be increased should he remain on the fringes of the first team under Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.

There had been rumours of a £70m bid for him earlier in the summer from Bayern.

Indeed, last summer he handed in a transfer request to the Blues in order to force through a move to the Bundesliga winners.

However, he ended up staying in London and signed a new long-term contract.

His deal runs until 2024.
