What bars, restaurants and salons can expect from Boris Johnson's announcement

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to lay out his plan for lifting lockdown restrictions next week.

The "road map" will lay out key dates, including the earliest dates we can expect restrictions to ease and for venues such as bars, restaurants, salons, cinemas and more to reopen.

Very few details have been confirmed just yet, though schools are expected to be the priority when it comes to reopening.

So what can we expect to hear about bars, restaurants and salons reopening?

While dates may be revealed when the Prime Minister addresses the nation, these will be the earliest possible dates and won't be set in stone.

As with last time around, the hospitality industry will likely be among the last things to open.

A Whitehall blueprint suggested that the end of April was being considered for allowing hospitality venues to reopen.

The internal plans say hotels, leisure facilities and some sporting venues could open their doors around this time.

Entertainment venues and sporting facilities would follow in early May.

Non-essential shops could come a bit earlier, in mid-April.

There has been very little information leaked so far about when the likes of hairdressers, tattoo parlours, cinemas, galleries and other beauty and leisure venues could reopen.

This time around is also likely to see tiers scrapped in favour of nationwide stages, so that there will be clear time gaps between schools, shops and pubs reopening, though how long these gaps will be is not yet known.

The Prime Minister will address the nation at 5pm from Downing Street on Monday, February 22.
