What Arsenal target Ryan Fraser told team-mates about his future

Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser has admitted he is ‘unsure’ about his future as Arsenal reportedly prepare to step up their pursuit with an opening bid.

Mirror Sport revealed in April that the Scotland international is on the Gunners' transfer summer hit-list.

Fraser caught the eye with performances for Bournemouth last season and other clubs have been looking as Tottenham have also scouted him.

But the Gunners are keen to win the race for the talented forward, and are in the process of beginning negotiations with their Premier League rivals.

Despite the interest, the winger, currently on international duty with Scotland, has remained tight-lipped on where he’ll be playing his football next season.

“The lads have been asking,” Fraser told BBC Scotland.

“I don’t know myself so there’s no point thinking about it, wherever I’ll be, I’ll be. I don’t know what is happening. I’m not just saying that.

“Wherever I’ll be, if it’s Bournemouth or if it’s at somebody else, then all you can do is try your best and enjoy football.

“If you think about anything else, I’ll probably have a bad game.”

The Cherries value Fraser at £30million, particular as Aberdeen are owed around 20 per cent of the fee as part of a sell-on clause.

Arsenal, however, are intent on lowering that price as they have other targets too, and boss Unai Emery won’t be given a huge summer budget.

Fraser is entering the final year of his current contract on the south coast and Bournemouth have been in talks to extend his spell with the club.

But talks have stalled in recent months and Bournemouth may be forced to cash in this summer rather than lose him for free at the end of next season.

Fraser has gained a reputation for being a quick, technical player and has an eye for goal with Arsenal looking to bolster their squad in that department.
