What Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli did in Brazil training ahead of World Cup qualifier

Gabriel Martinelli has been working hard in Brazil training ahead of the Selecao's World Cup qualifier with Bolivia on Wednesday.

The Gunners attacker received his first ever call-up to the Brazil squad for their last two World Cup qualifying matches. Brazil top the CONMEBOL standings and have already qualified for the finals in Qatar.

With qualification already secured, Tite was afforded an opportunity to experiment with his side. That gave Martinelli a chance to impress on the international stage for the first time. With Brazil facing Chile in their penultimate 2022 qualifier, Martinelli came on as a substitute. The Gunners ace played the last 15 minutes as the Selecao ran out 4-0 winners.

The 20-year-old is obviously eager to play more for his country too. As seen on social media site Reddit, the Arsenal youngster looked sharp whilst operating on the left wing in training as his national side prepare for their clash with Bolivia on Wednesday. Martinelli will be hoping to play a part in the South America side's potential success at the World Cup in November, and he's already showing Tite why he should be considered for the competition.

Before then, however, he'll be focused on helping Arsenal reach the Champions League for the first time since the 2015-2016 season.

Mikel Arteta side's most recent Premier League victory came at Villa Park last weekend, where the Gunners edged The Villains by one goal to nil. The win leaves the north London outfit in fourth place, three points ahead of arch rivals Tottenham, whom Arsenal have a game in hand over.
