What Arsenal secretary David Miles has said about when a new boss will be appointed

Arsenal general secretary David Miles has hinted that the appointment of a new manager could be close, as he hopes for "some stability soon".

The Gunners saw their poor run of form continue on Sunday after losing 3-0 to Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, which left the club having just one victory from their last 12 matches in all competitions.

That form is a major concern heading into a testing run of fixtures over the festive period and the January transfer window, while things are still up in the air as no permanent replacement for Unai Emery has been appointed.

However, speaking after the Europa League Round of 32 draw in Nyon, Arsenal's general secretary David Miles hinted that an outcome could be on the horizon.

“That’s not part of my brief, thankfully, I’ll leave that up to the big bosses but I hope for some stability soon," he told BT Sport.

Mikel Arteta is the favourite to take the reins after Vinai Venkatesham and Huss Fahmy were pictured leaving the home of the Manchester City assistant in the early hours of Monday morning.

Arsenal were handed a favourable-looking round of 32 draw in the Europa League as they were paired with Greek side Olympiacos.

Olympiacos have dropped into the Europa League from the Champions League, but did cause the Gunners' north London rivals Spurs problems in the group stage, drawing 2-2 at home before leading 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, only to see Spurs come back and win 4-2.
