Arsenal defeated Watford 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Mikel Arteta's side struggled to break down the Hornets in the first half as Bukayo Saka saw a goal disallowed in the seventh minute after goalkeeper Ben Foster played the youngster offside before Saka poked the ball into the empty net.
The Gunners then were awarded a penalty half an hour later before Foster denied club-captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from 12 yards.
Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe eventually broke the deadlock in the second half thanks to a clinical finish in the 56th minute - his fourth league goal of the season already.
However, the goal was shrouded in controversy given Watford's Danny Rose had put the ball out of play whilst Arsenal decided not to give them the ball back before Smith Rowe found the back of the net less than a minute later.
After the full-time whistle, Watford boss Claudio Ranieri confronted Arteta, clearly upset with the Gunners decision to play on and then eventually score the winner.
"We put out the ball and everybody expected the Arsenal players to give back the ball", Ranieri said.
"Sissoko and Rose said give the ball to us we put the ball out because there was an injured player.

"After this it was very strange. Sarr takes the ball and in my opinion there was a big foul and then nothing and then they scored a goal. Very strange. It’s ok that’s football and I’m very satisfied about our performance."
Still, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has claimed that he didn't think that his old side did anything wrong.
Wright said on Premier League Productions: “There’s nothing wrong with him (Ozan Tufan) in the end, there’s nothing wrong with him.
“I am sorry, plus people will say it’s Arsenal so I am biased. If there’s something wrong with you, then stay down and then you go through what you normally do.”
He added: “I don’t believe that they should give the ball back because there is nothing wrong with the player.”
