The future of Arsenal Football Club is a hot topic at the moment following recent events around the European Super League.
The Gunners were one of six Premier League clubs that originally signed up to the controversial 'breakaway' league, but withdrew their plans after nationwide uproar.
Protests followed outside of the Emirates Stadium, with the main topic of the gathering being the supporters' disgust with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) and how they've been running the north London club.
Spotify founder Daniel Ek revealed on his Twitter page that he has been a lifelong supporter of the club and shared his interest in purchasing Arsenal from the Kroenkes.
Sources involved in the proposed takeover told football.london last week that the approach is 'serious'.
However, KSE remain determined that they will not sell the club despite the growing pressure.
Now, as spotted by some eagle-eyed Arsenal fans, the club have recently taken to Twitter and followed Ek's official account - that has over 200,000 followers currently.
The 38-year-old Swedish billionaire made the initial approach to Arsenal legends: Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira after his original tweet where he stated he would 'throw his hat into the ring'.
Former Gunners striker Henry confirmed on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football that the speculation over a takeover bid is indeed true.
"I know a lot of people wanted to hear about it. It is true. Daniel is an Arsenal fan," the Frenchman said.
"He didn't say that for any publicity. He is an Arsenal fan for a very long time. He approached us, we listened to him."
The most recent valuation (2019) of Arsenal, via Forbes, says the club is valued at £1.8bn.
However, that figure has probably changed now after a lack of Champions League football at the Emirates Stadium, as well as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
