Arsenal beat Aston Villa 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night to climb up to ninth in the Premier League table.
The Gunners were 2-0 up by half-time thanks to goals from Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Emile Smith Rowe extended the Gunners’ lead after the break and Jacob Ramsey netted a late consolation for the visitors.
During the match, Arsenal fans made their feelings perfectly clear regarding their former goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who lined up for Villa and endured a miserable return to north London.
The Premier League clash was an opportunity for home fans to compare their former keeper with new number one Aaron Ramsdale, who was signed from Sheffield United in the summer.
After the hosts went 1-0 up sections of the Emirates Stadium crowd didn't waste the chance to serenade their former stopper with chants of "You're just a [expletive] Aaron Ramsdale" and “Aaron Ramsdale, he's better than you.”
Both were clearly heard around the ground and to those watching on TV.
