What Arsenal fans are saying about Kieran Tierney after Nottingham Forest performance

They say that good things come to those who wait, and that might well end up being the case for Arsenal fans if Kieran Tierney's debut was anything to go by.

Gunners supporters have been waiting for a glimpse of their new left-back ever since he signed from Celtic for £25million in the summer, but until Tuesday night he was kept on the sidelines through injury.

Finally the Scot's big moment arrived in the Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium, and he didn't disappoint those supporters as he became the first Scotsman to play for the Arsenal first-team since Scott Marshall in 1998.

Playing in his familiar left-back role, Tierney was excellent at getting forward and offered plenty for an Arsenal side who spent most of the evening on the front foot against their Championship opponents.

One excellent cross was almost turned in by Emile Smith Rowe, with the youngster unfortunately .

The Gunners took the lead in the first half through young forward Gabriel Martinelli, with Rob Holding, Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Martinelli again adding further strikes in the second half as they won 4-0 against the Championship outfit.

Tierney ended up playing for 77 minutes before being replaced by fellow injury returnee Hector Bellerin, who duly assisted Willock's goal almost immediately.

It was mainly all about Tierney though, and these fans were more than happy with what they saw from their new man.

Gunners fans will hope that Tierney can now force his way into Unai Emery's Premier League side, with the Gunners facing a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Monday night.
