What Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles said about Unai Emery's tactics after Watford draw

Arsenal have received criticism from all over after ther 2-2 draw with Watford on Sunday.

Leading 2-0 at the break, the Gunners produced two defensive mistakes to let two points slip through their fingers against the Premier League's bottom side.

But even without their defensive errors, Arsenal offered up a whopping 31 shots to the Hornets at Vicarage Road.

The focus of the draw was on Watford's first goal, however, when Bernd Leno and Sokratis tried to play out from the back at  goal-kick, with the ball being intercepted inside the area and Tom Cleverley firing home.

And full-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles admitted that his team should not have been so "persistent" in playing out from the back.

Speaking about Unai Emery's tactics on Sky Sports, Maitland-Niles said: "Words can't describe how I feel about it.

"I don't think so [that the team was scared], I think we tried to play the way we played, we should have changed it instead of being so persistent and trying to play out from the back."

And Maitland-Niles also revealed that the whole squad had discussed what happened after the match.

He added: "We've spoken to each other as a team and the manager has also spoken to us.

"We know we've done wrong, we can all hold our hands up and blame each other if we wanted to, but we're a team and we take the responsibility as a team and be even better."
