What are the wittiest chants you have heard at a football match?

Stoke City have a decent record against Arsenal but they did not enjoy a productive afternoon at the Emirates on Sunday. Alexis Sánchez set up the opening goal and then scored two more to give Arsenal a 3-0 lead after 49 minutes. With the home team content to pass the ball around for the rest of the second half, the away fans would have been forgiven for looking towards the exits but, with 10 minutes left to play, their day took a turn for the worse.

Any hope that they might salvage something from the game was extinguished when Geoff Cameron’s goal was ruled out for offside. And as the travelling fans settled back into their padded seats and began to contemplate the long journey home, a voice on the stadium PA announced news of major train delays out of London.

The Arsenal fans showed little sympathy for the stranded visitors. Loud cheers from the home crowd were followed by a gleeful rendition of the chant: “Three-nil and you can’t get home, three-nil and you can’t get home.”

The Emirates is not known for its rambunctious atmosphere but let’s give credit where it is due: that is a good line. Have you heard anything better while at a match?
