What are the West Midlands region European elections 2019 results?

People across the West Midlands have gone to the ballot box again - this time to vote in their Members of European Parliament .

A total of  seven MEP seats in the European Parliament are up for grabs in the area which covers Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Before 1999 these were the EU constituencies of Birmingham East, Birmingham West, Coventry and North Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Shropshire, Worcestershire and South Warwickshire, and parts of Peak District, Staffordshire East and Derby, and Staffordshire West and Congleton.

Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday May 23 with the count taking place on Sunday May 26. Results are expected to be announced after midnight.
