What are the web's hidden gems?

We all have our favourite sites for particular things, whether it's for paying your bills or buying presents for friends.

We're currently hard at work (*kof*) compiling our favourite websites for a special Christmas edition of Online... but as always, there are bound to be sites hidden in corners of the web that we haven't come across before.

So, what are your favourite websites? Are there any you think we - and everyone else - should know about?

Update: Thanks for the suggestions so far. As much as I appreciate the good folk of Webland promoting their own sites, this is about the really good sites you use a lot. If you are, however, alerting us to your very own slice of web wonder then please be aware that a URL and one sentence is more friendly than a 1,000 word press release...
