Wakefield General Election 2019 results in full

Despite the wind and the rain, voters throughout Wakefield have made their voices heard at the polls to elect their MP in the 2019 General Election.

Now the waiting is over for Horbury and South Ossett, Ossett, Wakefield East, Wakefield North, Wakefield Rural and Wakefield West.

The seat of Wakefield has a new Member of Parliament.

Before this year's election, the sitting MP was Labour's Mary Creagh.

Polls closed across the UK at 10pm on December 12, and a count has been underway ever since.

The 2019 results are below:

The new MP is Conservative Imran Ahmad-Khan

Results:

Conservative: Imran Ahmad-Khan - 21,283

Labour: Mary Creagh - 17,925

The Brexit Party: Peter Wiltshire - 2,725

Liberal Democrat: Jamie Needle - 1,772

The Yorkshire Party: Ryan Kett - 868

Independent: Stephen Whyte - 454
