The government have made changes to the red, amber and green list countries and the travel rules that apply.
It was announced that all of the changes would come into effect from 4.00am on Monday 30 August.
Under the travel rules - unvaccinated or partly-vaccinated passengers arriving in the UK from amber countries must self isolate at home for 10 days.
The government rules state that you must also take a COVID-19 travel test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8 of your arrival back in England.
Those who are fully vaccinated are exempt from isolating or testing on return - but they must have had their second dose at least 14 whole days before the date they enter England.
Travellers taking part in a UK-approved vaccine trial are also exempt from quarantine.
What do I need for travel to France?
France was taken off the 'amber plus' list in early August.
Those travellers entering from France must quarantine and take tests on day 2 and day 8 - as is standard procedure. Isolation is not necessary for the double vaccinated.
Travel rules for Spain
The Department for Transport has advised arrivals from Spain - and all of its islands - to take a PCR test before their departure.
This is as a precaution against the increased prevalence of coronavirus and variants in Spain.
Although the advice is not enforced, the government are urging travellers to remain vigilant when returning from Spain in particular.
