What are the NFL MVP futures betting odds?

The sports world has come to a stop. That won’t prevent Vegas from posting odds on many events and categories as the coronavirus pandemic continues. The site Betonline.ag  has some interesting propositions on the 2020 NFL MVP race.

Taysom Hill: 200-1

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

The Swiss Army Knife for the New Orleans Saints can do it all. It would seem as if he would have to replace Drew Brees at quarterback to have a legitimate shot at making a run at MVP.

Aaron Donald, J.J. Watt, 13 others 100-1

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

You can have a field day in choosing those players who would get you a return of 100-1. Throw in Todd Gurley, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Odell Beckham Jr., Nick Bosa, Mitchell Trubisky and others in this group.

Saquon Barkley, Sam Darnold, Ryan Tannehill 80-1

Scott Cunningham/Getty Images

Two New York athletes and another quarterback are slotted at 80-1. Saquon Barkley would need to bounce back from an injury-plagued sophomore season. Same with Sam Darnold, who was sidelined with mono. Ryan Tannehill had a career run down the stretch for the Titans and earned a big contract,

Tua Tagovailoa, Michael Thomas, Nick Chubb, Joe Burrow, Daniel Jones, Dalvin Cook 66-1

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Will Tua Tagovailoa go from Alabama to the NFL and take it by storm? Can Michael Thomas continue his elite play at WR and take the honors. Pretty long odds for both.

Cam Newton, Derrick Henry, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford 50-1

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

You will be playing with fire on the futures if you want to place a wager on Cam Newton, who is currently without a team. It won’t matter whether he signs with any team. Futures bets go on no matter what … unless the season is postponed.

Philip Rivers, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ben Roethlisberger, Kirk Cousins 40-1

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Could Philip Rivers go from the Bolts to the Colts and become MVP?

Baker Mayfield, Matt Ryan 33-1

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Baker Mayfield and Matt Ryan will be trying to lead their teams to bounce-back seasons while they pursue MVP honors.

Ezekiel Elliott 28-1

The Dallas Cowboys’ star running back Ezekiel Elliott would need to be fed the ball early and often to capture MVP honors.

Christian McCaffrey, Jameis Winston 25-1

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

If there were a running back to break through, Christian McCaffrey feels like he would be at the front. The Panthers’ star can catch the ball, run with it and is as dynamic as they come.

Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers 22-1

Veteran quarterbacks check in at 22-1. If Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers work their magic, this feels like a tempting price to get in on months before the season starts. Anything is possible with this pair of future Hall of Famers.

Carson Wentz 20-1

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

It might be wiser to seek an over/under on how many games injury-plagued Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz will start.

Deshaun Watson, Dak Prescott 18-1

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

A Texas twosome is listed at 18-1. Deshaun Watson of the Texans and Dak Prescott of the Cowboys are the quarterbacks in the Lone Star State.

Tom Brady 16-1

Adam Glanzman/Getty Images

Will the TB in TB turn the Buccaneer franchise around and earn another MVP award in his illustrious career. This could be the biggest hurdle and challenge Tom Brady tackles.

Kyler Murray 10-1

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Feels like these odds are way short on Kyler Murray. The Cardinals’ quarterback is exciting and has DeAndre Hopkins. Still, he is only going into his second season and would have to pull a Patrick Mahomes to become MVP with Arizona in 2020.

Russell Wilson 9-1

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

These are nice odds on Russell Wilson. The Seahawks’ quarterback is a proven winner and leader. He always finds a way to get his teams in the thick of the NFC West race. Could be the one.

Lamar Jackson 15-2

Todd Olszewski/Getty Images

Back-to-back? Lamar Jackson is as exciting a player as there is in the league. He could deliver another stellar season with wins and statistics.

Patrick Mahomes 6-1

 Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Mahomes was MVP of the NFL in his second season and Super Bowl MVP in his third campaign. Could the Chiefs’ quarterback complete a same-season exacta of NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP?
