Hemsworth General Election 2019 results in full

The voters of Hemsworth have been braving the wind and the rain at the polls to elect their MP in the 2019 General Election.

And now the waiting is over for South Wakefield, Hemsworth and Featherstone.

The seat of Hemsworth has a new Member of Parliament.

Before this year's election, the sitting MP was Labour's Jon Trickett.

Polls closed across the UK at 10pm on December 12, and a count has been underway ever since.

The 2019 results are below:

The new MP is Labour Jon Trickett

Breakdown:

Labour: Jon Trickett - 16,460

Conservative: Louise Calland - 15,280

The Brexit Party: Waj Ali - 5,930

Independent: Ian Womersley - 2,458

Liberal Democrat: James Monagh - 1,734

The Yorkshire Party: Martin Roberts - 964

Green: Lyn Morton - 916

Independent: Pete Wilks - 165
