What are the betting odds on where Tom Brady will play in 2020?

The mysterious photo posted on social media has set everyone aflutter. Where will the New Patriots’ and NFL’s G.O.A.T. play in 2020? DraftKings put out odds on where Brady will land … of course they are subject to change when oddsmakers decide to read into his social media antics. The rules clarify that the bet will be graded based on Brady’s team in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL regular season.

250-1

The odds would be considered Plus 25,000 meaning you would win $25,000 for every $100 you bet. Will simplifiy so people will know what the odds are to a dollar, but DraftKings numbers are based off an $100 bet. The reason why these team are so high is because it is deemed incredibly unlikely the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs or Seattle Seahawks would need a quarterback. Those teams all seem to be set at QB.

The second group is built around teams that either have veteran QBs (Falcons, Packers), one that is in position to draft Joe Burrow with the first pick in the draft (Bengals) and one that has a quarterback entering his third season (Bills) in Josh Allen.

80-1

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Don’t expect Brady to replace Jimmy Garoppolo in San Francisco in what would be a twist since the Niners’ QB was once thought of as the player who would replace him. Along with the Rams and Jets, the Niners are grouped.

66-1

Next up are the Philadelphia Eagles, who have seen Carson Wentz injured in multiple seasons, and Washington, which is banking on 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins as its franchise QB. Brady at 43 feels like a safer play for Washington than Haskins delivering to expectations.

50-1

Another quartet of teams that seem to be set at quarterback for various reasons. The Vikings have Kirk Cousins, who would be a UFA in 2021. The Saints are in the 40-plus category with Drew Brees. Ben Roethlisberger is not getting any younger in Pittsburgh. The Giants are at these odds because they have Daniel Jones, their first-round pick in 2019. However, the Giants’ new coach is Joe Judge, who comes to Big Blue from … the Patriots. Can’t see the Giants creating a mess after extricating themselves from the Eli Manning situation.

40-1

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

The Jaguars already have a QB glut with Gardner Minshew and Nick Foles. It wouldn’t make sense to add Brady, so that is why it could happen. No.

33-1

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Would Brady at this stage be better than Dak Prescott? Jerry Jones would have to think long and hard on that one. Then there is Matthew Stafford in Detroit, who was injured in 2019 and has big numbers but little postseason success in Detroit. And, he could take his talents to South Beach, like LeBron once did. The Dolphins seem to be ready to take a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft, having been mentioned as prime spot for Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama, who is coming off a major injury. Brady and Ryan Fitzpatrick would be the NFL version of the “Golden Girls.”

25-1

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

There would be plenty of people in the Windy City who would be thrilled to trade a year or two of Tom Brady for 2020 and ’21 with Mitchell Trubisky at QB for the Chicago Bears.

20-1

There are a quintet of teams at this number. The Panthers seem to be ready to move on from Cam Newton if they can find a trading partner. It would be hard to believe the Browns would move off Baker Mayfield, but Cleveland is capable of anything. Denver won a Super Bowl after picking up Peyton Maning from Indy. Would John Elway look for history to repeat itself with Drew Lock showing promise? And, there are the Raiders, who move to Las Vegas, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who know the 30-30 man Jameis Winston isn’t the future.

16-1

 Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Now if you want to take a plunge on making some good money, this could be an intriguing spot. Brady’s former teammate Mike Vrabel is head coach of the Tennessee Titans. The team came within a game of the Super Bowl. Derrick Henry is a beast at running back. A nice landing spot.

9-1

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts lost Andrew Luck to retirement and have Jacoby Brissett, who played with Brady in New England. It would almost feel like heresy for Brady to play on a team that was his rival for so many years with Peyton Manning. It also would be difficult for the Colts to hand over the No. 12 Luck wore for them. Difficult does not mean impossible.

4-1

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers are moving into a gorgeous stadium and away from veteran QB Philip Rivers. Brady could be the only hope the Bolts have to make a dent in LA. The Chargers are fighting the same battle the Clippers face against the Lakers. It isn’t a winning one. And it probably wouldn’t be one with a championship.

Minus 335

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The folks at DraftKings have ties to Massachusetts. So, they aren’t looking to take a financial bath if Brady decides it is prudent to stay put and play with one team for his glorious career. If you want to cash, you will have to bet $335 to win $100. That isn’t much of a play at the racetrack led alone when there is a field of 32.
