They’re all around us, we take them for granted – but is it time they had their moment in the spotlight? From traffic lights and bollards to bus shelters and bins, plenty of mass-produced, supposedly “boring” objects make up our cities. What are your city’s dullest icons? Share your pictures and stories of the most, er, boringly interesting urban objects and we’ll collect the best.

Just click on the blue ‘Contribute’ button, or if you’re out and about you can download the free GuardianWitness app for smartphones.
