What are the Barnsley East General Election 2019 results in full?

Voters in Barnsley East have gone to the polls to elect their MP in the General Election 2019.

And a new Member of Parliament has been elected for the constituency, which includes Wombwell and Worsbrough.

The sitting MP before the election was Labour's Stephanie Peacock and she held her seat, albeit on a much narrower majority than 2017.

Brexit Party candidate Jim Ferguson finished in second place with 11,112 - closely behind Peacock's 14,329.

The Conservative candidate Adam Gregg came third with a 27.3 per cent share of the result.

Stephanie Peacock's majority in 2017 was 13,283.

Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday December 12 with the vote expecting to take place overnight.

The 2019 results are below:

  • LABOUR: Stephanie Peacock - 14,329
  • THE BREXIT PARTY: Jim Ferguson - 11,112
  • CONSERVATIVE: Adam Gregg - 10,377
  • LIBERAL DEMOCRAT: Sophie Thornton - 1,330
  • GREEN: Richard Trotman - 922
