What are the Barnsley Central General Election 2019 results in full?

Voters in Barnsley Central have gone to the polls to elect their MP in the General Election 2019.

And a new Member of Parliament has been elected for the constituency, which includes the areas of Barnsley and Royston.

The sitting MP before the election was Labour's Dan Jarvis, who has held his seat.

He has done so with a much narrower majority than in 2017, winning the seat ahead of the Brexit Party by just 3,571 votes.

Their candidate Victoria Felton returned 11,233 of the vote to Labour's 14,804.

That means Labour's share of the vote has fallen by 23.8 per cent.

Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday December 12 with the vote expecting to take place overnight.

The 2019 results are below:

  1. LABOUR: Dan Jarvis - 14,804
  2. THE BREXIT PARTY: Victoria Felton - 11,233
  3. CONSERVATIVE: Iftikhar Ahmed - 7,892
  4. LIBERAL DEMOCRATS: Will Sapwell - 1,176
  5. GREEN: Tom Heyes - 900
  6. THE YORKSHIRE PARTY: Ryan Williams - 710
  7. INDEPENDENT: Donald Wood - 188
