What Alexandre Lacazette said to Arsenal fans after being named man of the match against Leeds

Arsenal's striker Alexandre Lacazette has sent a message to fans following a his man of the match performance in the FA Cup third round on Monday night.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffering from illness, Lacazette was the stand-in captain as Arsenal came out as 1-0 winners over Championship side Leeds United, with youngster Reiss Nelson scoring the winning goal in the second-half.

Despite not finding the net himself, the Frenchman impressed in his performance during the match, and was presented with the man of the match award after the final whistle.

Taking to social media after the match, Lacazette gave his thoughts on the win.

"Not an easy game but good reaction from the team !! Next round," he wrote on his Instagram account.

After a disappointing first-half, in which the Gunners could have easily seen themselves behind, Mikel Arteta's men showed renewed energy in the second period.

Lacazette said post-match that the new head coach had let his feelings known during the break.

"He shout a lot," he said in an interview with BBC Sport. "He was not happy because we knew they were going to play like this and we didn't respect what he said.

"But for the second half it was better."

Arsenal will now face Bournemouth away in the fourth round of the competition, with the tie taking place the weekend of 24th-26th January.
