What Alexandre Lacazette did to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after ending Arsenal goal drought

The drought is over!

After nine games without a goal across all competitions for Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette found the back of the net in the 4-0 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The goal was somewhat fortunate as the Frenchman appeared to have struck the ball twice before the ball hit the back of the net.

But he won't care about how the goal came about.

Even the reaction from the Gunners squad spoke volumes as almost every single outfield player ran to join in on the celebrations.

Lacazette himself was clearly delighted to have ended his goal drought and this was evident when he celebrated with strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Football.london were at the Emirates and noticed that Lacazette jumped into the arms of the Arsenal captain.

The pair also performed their trademark handshake celebration.

This 4-0 win takes the north London outfit back up to 10th in the Premier League table and they are now six points behind bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place.

Lacazette certainly had an impact after being dropped in favour of Eddie Nketiah to start against the Magpies.

Explaining that decision, head coach Mikel Arteta said of Nketiah: "He's been training really well. He's a kid that has a goal in him.

"I believe we have a game ahead with a low block and a lot of numbers behind the ball. He's a very talented player to find goals and goalscoring situations.

"I trust him. That's why I decided to keep him."

Not only did Lacazette score, he also claimed an assist for Mesut Ozil's first Arsenal goal in almost a year.
