What Alexandre Lacazette did in Arsenal's Dubai training session amid nine-game goal drought

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette still knows where the goal is.

Gunners supporters could be forgiven for thinking otherwise as it's been a while since the Frenchman last found the back of the net.

It's nine games across all competitions to be exact - since netting in a 2-2 draw against Standard Liege in the Europa League - but head coach Mikel Arteta regards Lacazette as a key player in his attacking trio.

David Luiz hilariously pranks Arsenal teammates during winter break

"He had the chances to put away," Arteta said when reflecting on the 2-0 win over Manchester United on New Year's Day. "He has been really helpful in giving us a lot of options.

"He makes his team-mates better, that's one of the biggest qualities.

"Normally every time he's in front of goal he's so clinical. I'm disappointed that he hasn't been rewarded for all the work he's done in the last three games, he could have scored three or four goals easily.

"The goals will come for him naturally because he's a top finisher."

And it would appear that Arteta's prediction will come true.

On the club's official YouTube account, Arsenal posted their 'Behind the scenes in Dubai' training session video on Sunday which captured Gabriel Martinelli doing a 'madness' and Nicolas Pepe humiliating Rob Holding with his feet.

What might have gone unnoticed was Lacazette scoring a goal.

At around the 1.54 minute mark, Mesut Ozil squares the ball into the Frenchman's path and whilst leaning back he manages to sneak an effort past Matt Macey at the near post.

Of course, this was in training and doesn't count towards Lacazette's goal tally.

But maybe his confidence will start to return once Premier League action resumes this weekend when the Gunners welcome Newcastle United to the Emirates Stadium.

With the north London outfit trailing Chelsea by 10 points in the race for a top-four finish, a goal from Lacazette would be greatly appreciated by supporters and would go some way to repaying Arteta's faith.
